In The Company of Good Books: From Homer to Morrison

For this year’s National Book Week, the Library’s exhibit, In the Company of Good Books: From Homer to Morrison, which was inspired by Princeton University’s exhibition, which celebrated the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s “First Folio”, showcased the literary luminaries whose lives inspired millions and whose influences stretched out lifetimes.

Authors featured in the exhibit include Homer, Dante, William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Alexander Dumas, José Rizal, Agatha Christie, Nick Joaquin, Jules Verne, J.R.R. Tolkien, Sylvia Plath, Margaret Atwood, and Tony Morrison. Their works from the Library’s collection, and donations were displayed as well.

It was an honor to have a literary session with Dr. Jun Salipsip, President of Enderun Colleges, on the second day of Book Week, which turned into a very interesting and fun discussion. Our students also shared their thoughts on today’s political landscape, drawing parallels with Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere & El Filibusterismo.
