The National Book Week 2018!
The National Book Week 2018 was held last Nov. 26-29, 2018. Events were collaborated by the Japan Embassy, First Edition, Sustainability Department and Office of the Career Services.
Our dear school president, Dr. Edgardo Rodriguez had his opening remarks during the opening program of the National Book Week Celebration. Mr. Toshiyuki Taguchi of Japan Embassy gave his inspiring talk too regarding Japanese culture. The event was followed by the Book Character Costume contest which was judged by Dean Ed, Mr. Taguchi and Miss Dhiya, our Academics Manager.
Day 1 of the event was highlighted with the Tea Ceremony and Wagashi demonstrated by the Urasenka group.
Day 2 was started by the Editorial Workshop conducted by Miss Adelle Chua of Manila Standard and the Ikenobo/ Ikebana, a Japanese floral arrangement demonstrated by the team of the Japan Embassy.
Different contests facilitated by the First Edition was originally scheduled on Day 3, Nov. 27 but was moved to Dec. 5, 2018.
Amazing Race which was sponsored by the Sustainability Department headed by Engr. Macky Maceda was held on the last day of the event. The finale, a collaboration with the Office of the Career Services was a success story of our distinguished guest from ANC “On the Money” host, Mr. Jose Quintin Pastrana, the founder of the Library Renewal Partnership Program.
